ARMENIAN FILM IN CANNES: ‘Don’t be afraid’

‘Don’t be afraid’ documentary film, directed by Lusine Petrosyan, will
be represented in Cannes. From May 16th to 26th 2007 the Festival de
Cannes is holding the 4th Edition of the Short Film Corner. It is the
only film from Armenia.14 minutes’ film is based on Bible commandments
and sayings after Holy Pope John Paul II.

Particularly in film there figure some 4-5 commandments that
seemingly Holy Pope didn’t follow to in way people had used to do
for centuries. Jesus Christ had taught ‘To give to Cesar what belongs
to Cesar’ and Apostle Peter went even further teaching to ‘obedient
to all human constitutions’ yet Holy Pope never obeyed to communist
authorities. "Love, perfect love towards everlasting values like
Truth, Peace, Justice helped Holy Pope not to be afraid to revise
even astonished stereotypes "-, the film summary said.

Director of film Lusine Petrosian is arriving in Cannes tonight. By
the way, Armenian actor Hovhannes Babakhanyan reads voice-over.
