PRESS RELEASE
May 16, 2007

LOS ANGELES, CA – On the weekend of May 12th-13th, ARF Shant Student
Association (ARF Shant), the chairing organization of the All Armenian
Student Association (All-ASA) Leadership Development Committee,
organized and hosted the All-ASA Leadership Retreat. The weekend-long
affair was held at Camp Big Pines in Angeles National Forest,
California.

Three dozen executives and upcoming leaders of the various Armenian
Student Associations in Southern California participated in the two
days of lectures, workshops, and team-building exercises. The
participants also had great opportunities to fraternize with their
fellow executives from other campuses by participating in recreational
activities such as canoeing, hiking, and a barbeque party.

ARF Shant was elected to the chairmanship of the All-ASA Leadership
Development Committee at the last General Meeting of the All-ASA, the
official body of united Armenian students. Leadership development of
the Armenian student population is one of the foremost priorities of
ARF Shant, which is satisfied that the unprecedented event was
successful.

The mission of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation "Shant" Student
Association (ARF Shant) is to bring a higher level of political and
cultural awareness to Armenian students within American Universities
and institutions of higher learning. The ARF Shant’s goal is to work
side by side with the Armenian Student Associations and other Armenian
Student organizations to further the Armenian Cause.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
