ARMENIA’S SECURITY IS INTEGRAL PART OF INTERNATIONAL SECURITY SYSTEM

East, North and South, Europe and Asia, Russia, USA and the European
Union, the South Caucasian region experiences influence of rivalry and
coupling of those interests. In this respect the sphere of providing
security and the processes that take place here, are significantly
politicized and become vitally important for the countries of this
region, Defense Minister of Armenia Michael Haroutyunyan stated. He
said, influence of those international military-political processes
has significantly grown recently, in the result of which activities
of interested parties, superpowers, security systems became more
intense in the region. It is conditioned by globalizing the fight
against terrorism, the on-going military operations in the Middle
East, NATO and EU enlargement processes, integration in the framework
of CIS-CSTO, as well as global-economic factors of development and
enlargement of energy market and energy supply, financial processes,
transport and communication-informational infrastructures and the
stream of spreading high technologies.
The RA Defense Minister underlined Armenia is involved in the
above-mentioned regional and international processes. "We view
the construction of secure future of our country in the context
of regional and international security, since Armenia’s security
has not only domestic measuring, but is also an integral part of
the international security system. In this aspect the strategy of
providing Armenia’s security and issues connected with that task,
basing on national and democratic values, is aimed at international,
including regional integration.
Analyses and predictions of the above-mentioned multicomponent
processes and basic factor, which form the environment of regional
security are very important, since Armenia lives and develops namely
in that environment," Michael Haroutyunyan said, "Krasnaya Zvezda"
reports.
