ARMENIA PM INTENDS TO RUN FOR PRESIDENT

YEREVAN, May 16 (Itar-Tass) — Armenian Prime Minister Serzh Sarkisyan
stated about his intention to run in the next year’s presidential
elections.
The Saturday parliamentary "elections showed that the Republican
Party of Armenia has a serious vote of confidence, and if the party
takes this decision, I will run," Sarkisyan, who heads the Republican
Party of Armenia, said in the Armenian National Assembly on Wednesday.
The preliminary results of the May 12 elections in the Armenian
National Assembly showed that the Republican Party of Armenia would
get about 65 mandates (131 seats in Armenia’s parliament – Itar-Tass).
