Yerevan, 16 May: Armenian Prime Minister Serzh Sargsyan said in
Yerevan today that the government would go on with the efforts to
improve the electoral system in the country.
The prime minister said this at a meeting with the newly-appointed
Italian ambassador to Armenia, Massimo Lavezzo Cassinelli, the
government’s press service told Mediamax today.
The diplomat congratulated Sargsyan on the successful election and
the victory of the [Sargsyan-led] Republican Party of Armenia [in
the 12 May parliamentary election].
The prime minister expressed confidence that each next election in
Armenia would be better than the previous ones. "No-one can say that
the electoral system in their country is perfect to such an extent
that there is nothing left to do in this area," Sargsyan said.
