HIS HOLINESS ARAM I RECEIVES THE NEWLY ELECTED COMMITTEE OF THE
RAMGAVAR PARTY
The newly elected committee of the Armenian Democratic Liberal (Ramgavar)
Party visited His Holiness Aram I in Antelias on May 17. The committee was
headed by MP Hagop Kassardjian.
The Catholicos gave his blessings to the new committee and discussed with
its members issues concerning Lebanon in general and the Armenian community
in particular. He emphasized the importance of preserving the unity of the
Armenian community.
The importance of demonstrating an active contribution to various aspects
of Lebanese life was stressed during the meeting. His Holiness expressed his
viewpoints on considering the interests of the Armenian community above all
other interests and advised that on every occasion and opportunity the fact
that the Armenian community is one of Lebanon’s seven main communities
should be highlighted. The Pontiff also pointed out the need to reinvigorate
the spirit of cooperation between the Armenian members of the Lebanese
Parliament.
