YEREVAN, May 17. /ARKA/. Many Armenian parties did not enter the
parliament because of lack of stable electorate, said member of the
RPA Board, Head of RPA Parliamentary faction Galust Sahakyan.
"Each party should have stable electorate," he said.
According to Sahakyan, at present only two parties have stable
electorate in Armenia – the RPA and ARF (Dashnaktsiutiun).
He added that one of the reasons for failure of the People’s Party
headed by President of the ALM media holding, entrepreneur from
Volgograd Tigran Karapetyan is the instability of the electorate.
"It is an important issue as the population is not guided by charity
or gifts," he said.
According to the CEC preliminary data, Armenia’s National Assembly
of the fourth convocation will be represented by five parties – the
Republican Party of Armenia (33.8% of votes), Prosperous Armenia
(15.1%) and ARF Dashnaktsiutiun (13.1%), "Orinats Yerkir" (7.04%)
and "Heritage" (5.98%).
