PATRIC DEVEJIAN TO HEAD RULING PARTY OF FRANCE

PARIS, MAY 18, NOYAN TAPAN – ARMENIANS TODAY. French deputy of Armenian
descent Patric Devejian is going to head France’s ruling party "Union
for Popular Movement" (UMP), The Turkish daily "Milliyet" reported,
citing the French press.
Over the past two days, during the meetings between the newly elected
French president, former chairman of UMP party Nicolas Sarkozy and
Patric Devejian, N. Sarkozy expressed a wish to transfer the UMP
chairmanship to the French Armenian politician.
