CRIMINAL CASE OPENED IN GREECE AGAINST THOSE WHO BURNED TURKISH FLAG

SALONIKA, MAY 23, NOYAN TAPAN. A criminal case was opened against the
persons who burned a Turkish flag in front of the Turkish consulate
in Salonika during the April 24 procession organized in connection
with the 92nd anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
According to the Turkish press, prosecutor general of Salonika’s
criminal court Vasilis Floridis stated that a criminal case (in
absentia) was initiated against those who burned the Turkish flag. He
said that the identities of these persons fixed by photo cameras will
be established, after which charges of defiling the national symbol
of a foreign state will be brought against them.
