On May 19 NKR President Arkady Ghukasian met with the delegation of
German politicians, representatives of NGOs, businessmen and reporters
visiting Stepanakert initiated by the NKR National Assembly and the
Union of Friends of Artsakh in Berlin. Appreciating the promotion of
relations with the German public, political and scientific circles
since 2005, Arkady Ghukasian said these relations enable NKR, which
has no access to international rostrums, to tell the international
community about its past and present. The president reasserted the
readiness of the people of Artsakh to remain faithful to democratic
values and hope for the support of the international community,
including the German society in this. For his part, the head of the
delegation Dr. Eckhart Strattenschulte, director of the European
Academy of Berlin, said the meetings in Artsakh allowed getting
a clear idea of the public, political and economic reality of the
country. We will share our impressions with others and continue to
promote relations with Karabakh, he said. In the end they confirmed
the arrangement to continue and promote collaboration.
