Azat Hayrenik Party voted for Bako Sahakyan

On Saturday the Azat Hayrenik Party held a meeting in which almost 450
members participated. In his address, the leader of the party Arayik
Harutiunyan presented the stance of the party on the settlement of the
Karabakh issue, the Armenia-Artsakh-Diaspora relation and the
international recognition of the independence of NKR. The leader of
the party also touched upon the presidential election. He said the
party decided not to name a president proceeding from the belief that
the political forces of the country must support a single candidate.
In his address, the deputy speaker of the parliament Rudik Hyusnunts,
a member of the board of the party, said the party’s members of
parliament have always been beside people, and `in the political life
of the country it has always been a link between the ruling and
opposition forces.’ In the end the deputy speaker called on the
members of the party to support Bako Sahakyan in the upcoming
presidential election. The representatives of the regional offices of
the party also stated to support Bako Sahakyan. The decision of the
Central Council of the party on supporting Bako Sahakyan was read. The
decision was adopted unanimously.
In the end there was voting. Arayik Harutiunyan was reelected leader
of the party, who heads the Central Council and the presidium of the
party.
