/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Turkey on Tuesday warned the United States against
repeating violations of Turkish airspace at the border with Iraq,
threatening unspecified action. The note of protest was handed to
a member of the U.S. diplomatic mission, who was summoned to the
Turkish Foreign Ministry. MFA representative Levent Bilman said all
essential measures have been taken, APA reports.

The warning followed violations by two U.S. F-16 warplanes on May
24, which some Turkish media described as a deliberate attempt at
intimidation as Ankara discusses whether it undertake a military
strike at PKK bases in northern Iraq.

After a 4-minute flight the planes turned round. The Turkish air
defense troops did not commence fire, since F-16 belong to the
NATO ally.
