MINSK, MAY 30, NOYAN TAPAN – ARMENIANS TODAY. The concert of
the Erebuni dance ethnographic ensemble of Minsk dedicated to
the holiday of the Republic of Armenia took place at the hall of
the Railwaymen’s Culture House of Belarus on May 28 of the current
year. The Embassy of Armenia, the Armenian community of Belarus, the
Autorized Representative’s Office for Religions and Nations Issues
of the Republic of Belarus assisted the initiative of the ensemble
to organize the concert. Noyan Tapan was informed about it by the RA
Foreign Ministry’s Press and Information Department.

G. Yeghiazarian, the Chairman of the Hayastan (Armenia)
cultural-educational association of Minsk made the opening speech. Oleg
Yesayan, the Ambassador of Armenia to Belarus touched upon in his
speech the historic victories the Armenian people had in the 1918 May
heroic struggles owing to its unity and solidarity, which opened way
for re-establishment of the Armenian statehood, declaration of the
first republic of Armenia. He congratulated the concert participants
and addressed greetings of the hall to the delegation present at the
event, headed the RA Deputy Foreign Minister Gegham Gharibjanian who
arrived in Minsk to participate in the third regular sitting of the
interstate working group on preparing the draft conception for the
CIS development.

The full hall greeted with great enthusiasm the concert consisting of
mainly Armenian dance performances. Ruzanna Avanesian, the head of
the Erebuni dance ensemble, expressing gratitude to those assisted
organization of the concert, mentioned the contribution of the RA
Embassy in the issue of getting new dance clothes as well as in
the issue of visiting Armenia during the coming summer months and
participating in the all-Armenian youth events.
