Today, the flea market employees held a protest action in front of
the RoA Government. On May 29 over 200 merchants were exiled from the
market adjacent to "Republic" sports field. Bulldozer leveled their
goods to the ground and they were unable to take any measures. The
traders were told that the area had been sold and they should vacate
the territory as quickly as possible.
"We could hardly survive with the money got from the goods. And now
we are deprived of any chance to earn our living. Should we become
vagabonds?" says Lena Sahakyan.
"We sleep in the open air in the graveyards. We are half alive and half
buried. We want neither money nor work. We simply want an area to sell
our worn-out clothes Our rights are violated," Levon Khachatryan said.
They feel foreigners in their homeland-Armenia. They intend to continue
their protest action in case their demands are not satisfied.
