/PanARMENIAN.Net/ The Azeri-Georgian-Turkish working group will sit in
Ankara this week to discuss implementation of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars
railroad construction project, said Huseyn Avni Karslioglu, Turkish
Ambassador to Azerbaijan. Heads of railway departments of the three
states will take part in the meeting, he said.

Amb. Karslioglu noted that construction of a trunk-railway is not an
easy task. Some segments will stretch through tunnels in the mountains.

"Construction of one more tunnel needs to be built at the
Turkish-Georgian border. That is why the sides discuss the issues so
thoroughly," he said, Novosti Azerbaijan reports.

The railroad length will make 105 km. 29 km will extend through Turkey,
the rest will be built in Georgia. The Baku-Tbilisi railway will be
reconstructed within the project framework.

Turkey will itself cover all construction expenses on its territory. As
to the Georgian sector, Azerbaijan is planning to allocate a $200
million credit to Georgia.
