DAY OF PROTECTION OF CHILDREN’S RIGHTS TO BE MARKED IN ALL REGIONS AND ORPHANAGES

YEREVAN, MAY 31, NOYAN TAPAN. Festive events will be held in all
Armenians regions and orphanages on the International Day of Protection
of Children’s Rights, June 1. Noyan Tapan correspondent was informed
about it by Lena Hayrapetian, Head of Department for Family, Women’s
and Children’s Problems of RA Ministry of Labor and Social Issues. In
her words, in particular, competitions of crayon pictures, festivals,
concerts will be held.

L. Hayrapetian said that currently 8 state and 5 private
orphanages work in Armenia. They take care of 890 and 250 children,
respectively. In her words, at present the state conducts policy of
returning children of orphanages to families.
