In other early action from Saturday’s round of Euro 2008 qualifiers,
Group A cellar-dwellers Armenia defeated Kazakhstan 2-1 in Almaty,
while Poland extended their lead at the top of the group with a 3-1
win over Azerbaijan.
Serbia recorded a 2-0 win away in Finland to move into second place
in Group A, three points ahead of Portugal who have a game in hand.
Meanwhile in St Petersburg, Russia went to the top of Group E with an
easy 4-0 win over last placed Andorra, with Sevilla forward Alexander
Kerzhakov scoring a hat-trick, and Lokomotiv Moscow forward Dmitry
Sychev grabbing the other for the home side.
