"Turkish soldiers will leave for Karabakh with pleasure if NATO makes
such decision," Head of NATO group in the Turkish parliament, a member
of Justice and Development Party, Vahit Erdem said, APA reports.
"Turkey is one of the two strongest NATO member-countries. Turkish
peacemakers participate in all the operations in the world: Kosovo,
Bosnia, Afghanistan and others. We have historical ties with the
Balkans. That is why, they sympathize our army," he said. As regards
the passage of the command of the peacemakers in Kosovo to Turkey, the
V. Erdem called it natural. However, NATO does not plan to send
peacemakers to the zone of Karabakh conflict so far. "Turkey has
close historical ties with the Caucasus. In this connection, the
departure of Turkish soldiers to the Karabakh conflict zone would be
favorable to all the parties," he said.
It should be noted that Armenia has no diplomatic relations with
Turkey.
