NATIONAL ASSEMBLY KICKED OFF DISCUSSION OF BUDGET PERFORMANCE

On June 1 the standing committees of the NKR National Assembly held
a meeting to discuss the annual report on the performance of State
Budget 2006. The chair of the standing committee of finance, budget
and economic management Benik Bakshian conducted the meeting. The
minister of economy and finance Spartak Tevosian made a statement on
the performance of the budget. The minister said the economic growth
in 2006 was 10.1 percent. The GDP totaled 61.6 billion drams with a
9.4 percent deflator. 1800 new jobs were created. The average monthly
wage totaled 56 683 drams, growing by 10.9 percent compared with 2005.

The income and spending of people grew as well. Benik Bakshian said
the standing committees and factions will discuss the report on
performance from June 4 to 8.
