YEREVAN, JUNE 7, NOYAN TAPAN. The opposition will not take part
in the presidential elections with a single candidate, Arshak
Sadoyan, Chairman of Union of National Democrats, considers. "It
is very important that the opposition unite around some candidate
for presidency, but it is obvious that this will be impossible,"
he declared.

In A. Sadoyan’s words, presence of several candidates for presidency
nominated by the opposition is inevitable, but even in this
case they can form one pole around some more or less admissible
candidate. Refuting the rumors on his offering his own candidature
for presidency, A. Sadoyan stated that at the presidential elections
he is going to support the candidature of his former co-partisan,
Chairman of National Democratic Union Vazgen Manukian.

As A. Sadoyan affirmed, it is more important that the opposition
unite for the purpose of controlling the elections. In his words,
from today we should prepare for the presidential elections not to
be as falsified as the parliamentary ones. The Chairman of Union of
National Democrats said that only 7-8 months have remained until the
presidential elections and we should get ready for them immediately.
