RA PRESIDENT CONGRATULATED TIGRAN TOROSYAN ON ELECTION AS SPEAKER OF ARMENIAN PARLIAMENT

Tigran Torosyan on the election as the Speaker of the 4th
convocation Armenian Parliament, the Presidential Press Office
reports. R. Kocharian’s congratulatory message, in particular reads as
follows, "I am sure that your knowledge and experience will serve for
further deepening of the reform process in Armenia and the progress
in the country. I wish you effective work for the sake of the Republic
of Armenia".
Today Tigran Torosyan was elected as the Speaker of the 4th convocation
National Assembly of Armenia. In the result of the secret vote held
on Thursday in the parliament 112 deputies voted for and 2 MPs voted
against Torosyan’s candidacy with no abstainers.
Torosyan was the only candidate for the post of RA NA Speaker. The
Republican Party of Armenia offered his candidacy during the first
session of the newly elected parliament.
