"Two important events for Nagorno Karabakh happened over the last
several days", Karabakh political
expert David Babayan thinks.

"The first important event may be considered the one, developed at the
summit of the Eight in Germany. The press-conference of the Russian
president was of special interest from this viewpoint.
Everything, which was said there, brought to light the deep
transformations of geopolitical space in international relations. In
this context, we observe rather confident attempts of Russia to recover
its status of a super- state or almost a super-state on a global scale.
Many wonder how it will affect our region and our conflict, in
particular. I think, it will have positive influence on the situation
in the region, since the goals pursued by super-states here, are more
or less clear. Such development of the situation will enable NKR to
increase its weight in the region", D. Babayan told ArmInfo.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
