ARTUTIK CHILDREN’S CREATIVE CAMP TO BE HELD FOR FIRST TIME IN ARMENIA

YEREVAN, JUNE 12, NOYAN TAPAN. Artutik children’s creative camp will
be held for the first time on July 3-8 in Dilijan on the initiative of
RA Ministry of Culture. As Deputy Minister Karine Khodikian reported
at the June 12 press conference, 12-16-year-old children who have
received gold, silver medals and encouraging prizes at international
competitions and festivals will take part in the camp. 3 mln drams
(nearly 8.6 thousand USD) has been allocated from RA state budget
for holding the camp.
In Deputy Minister’s words, talented children from Armenia, as well
as Artsakh and Javakhk will take part in the camp. Master classes
with participation of architects and musicologists, as well as visits
to historic-cultural sights of Tavush region will be organized for
children in the camp.
K. Khodikian reminded that on June 1, 1992 Armenia ratified UN
Convention On Children’s Rights, according to which issues of
children’s protection and organization of their rest should be made
primary. It was also mentioned that summer creative camps are also
held by Ministries of Culture of CIS and a number of other countries.
