Dr. Tekian’s "Journey of a Lifetime" Subject of AGBU Slide
Presentation on June 19
On June 19, 2007, AGBU Young Professionals of Greater New York (YPGNY)
and the AGBU New York Summer Intern Program will host a slide
presentation by Dr. Ara Tekian entitled "Journey of a Lifetime." Join
Dr. Ara Tekian as he takes you on his amazing journey with five other
Armenians throughout Eastern Turkey which culminated with the climbing
and raising of Armenia’s flag on Mount Ararat on the occasion of the
15th Anniversary of Armenia’s independence and the founding of the
American University of Armenia.
Dr. Tekian is a medical education specialist and professor at the
University of Illinois-Chicago, and will be using more than 300 images
to illustrate a trip that included visits to the medieval Armenian
city of Ani, the monastery of Varag, the Holy Cross Church of
Aghtamar, and the historic Armenian city of Kars.
The event will take place at 7:30 PM at AGBU located at 55 East 59th
Street, New York, NY, 10022, between Park and Madison. A trivial
