Georgia and Russia came to agreement to abolish restrictions on
transportation and trade between the two states, said President of
Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili on a meeting with the Georgian community
of Saint Petersburg.
Saakashvili also added that during the informal meeting of the heads of
CIS member-states he had conversation with Vladimir Putin. The latter
did not object Saakashvili’s proposal to open a Georgian consulate in
Petersburg. Putin said that restrictions against Georgia are caused
only by technical matters and that Russia has nothing against Georgia.
