UNION OF NATIONAL DEMOCRATS TO SUPPORT VAZGEN MANUKIAN’S CANDIDATURE AT 2008 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS

YEREVAN, JUNE 13, NOYAN TAPAN. The Union of National Democrats party
will support Vazgen Manukian’s candidature at the 2008 presidential
elections.

Party Chairman Arshak Sadoyan reported at the June 13 press conference.

A. Sadoyan said that it is planned to convene a conference of Union
of National Democrats by the end of the current month, the goal of
which will be to work out steps aimed at joint organization of control
over the presidential elections, as well as steps aimed at forming a
civil society in Armenia. Representatives of not only political forces,
but also civil society – NGO members, intellectuals and all those "who
are anxious about country’s future" will take part in the conference.

"We will try to do at the presidential elections what we did not manage
to at the parliamentary elections. And the step we offer now is aimed
at not permitting damage of process of elections control because of
conflicts, ambitions struggle among candidates for presidency in the
future," Sadoyan declared.
