ARMENIAN POLICE REFUSES TO COMMENT ON DISMISSAL OF POLICE DEPUTY HEAD HOVHANESS VARYAN

The Armenian Police refuses from comments on the reason of Hovhanness
Varyan’s dismissal from the post of Police Deputy Head. "Just take this
as a fact that needs no comment," Press Secretary of Armenian Police,
Lt. Colonel Sayat Shirinyan told journalists. He mentioned that the
Police is not a petrified structure and needs staff reshuffles. "It
is the authorities that indicate at the expediency of reshuffles,"
Shirinyan said. He also urged journalists not to search scandal in it.

H. Varyan was released from office in accordance with a decree of the
Armenian President. The reasons are said to be different: health state,
a conflict with Police head Colonel General Hayk Haroutunyan, etc…
