YEREVAN, JUNE 15, NOYAN TAPAN. On June 14 Nikol Pashinian, a member
of the Impeachment Board, the editor of the Armenian Daily "Haykakan
Zhamanak" (Armenian Time), organized a parade along Mashtots avenue
towards Azatutiun square. During the parade he called the passers-by
for "joining 1+1 +1 +1 +… new opposition format" reminding one of the
slogans of the "Alternative" non-governmental-political organization:
"The salvation of Armenia depends on one person and you are that
very person."
In Azatutiun square Nikol Pashinian declared that the municipality
ungroundedly prohibits holding rallies of Impeachment in that
square. But according to N. Pashinian, that square must become the RA
National Assembly, the RA government and the presidential residence
despite everything. Nicol Pashinian believes that the people should
gather in that very square and make political decisions, thus really
becoming the head of the country. In his words, during meetings people
always ask him why the opposition does not unite. "I don’t want to
comment on this question now but we all should make one demand to the
opposition, that is to say to take part in the presidential elections
with one common candidate," Nikol Pashinian said.
