Ambassador John Danilovic, Executive Head of "Millenium Challenges"
Corporation, John Traftou, US Ambassador to Georgia, Lousha Sharidze,
Head of "MCC" in Georgia, visited Akhalkalaki. "A-Info" agency informed
that they examined the roads included in the MCC restoration project
and met with the members of the Akhalkalaki administration.
According to the MCC restoration project, it is envisaged that
Tbilisi-Tsalka-Ninotsminda-Bavra and Kartsakh-Ninotsminda roads should
be renovated. $300 million are envisaged for the realization of the
program, $100 million have already been allocated.
The construction programs are to begin in July this year and will be
completed in 2011. In the course of the meeting, the sides approved
the suggestion of Hamlet Movsisian, member of Georgian Parliament, who
offered to hire the local workers for the coming construction works.
