WASHINGTON JUNE 20, NOYAN TAPAN – ARMENIANS TODAY. Joseph Biden,
Chairman of U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Commission, greeted the
initiative of 53 Nobel prize-winners who call Armenians and Turks to
be tolerant and to cooperate with one another. This was reported by
the Armenian Assembly of America (AAA).
Democrat Senator Biden made a statement calling Ankara for stopping
discrimination to ethnic and religious minorities, as well as
liquidating Article 301, Turkish Criminal Code.
To recap, after the murder of editor-in-chief of Agos newspaper,
Hrant Dink, Joseph Biden proposed adopting a bill condemning Hrant
Dink’s murder, by which he called Turkey for reconsidering Article
301. "No doubt, Article 301 had its poisonous role in creation of
the atmosphere, which became the reason of Dink’s death," Joseph
Biden stated.
