ELECTION CAMPAIGN STARTED IN NKR TODAY

Election campaign of presidential contenders started in Nagorno
Karabakh today. It will last till July 17.

As ArmInfo’s special correspondent in Stepanakert reports, toss-up will
also be held today, as a result of which priority of appearance of the
contenders by public TV and Radio of NKR will be determined. As Head
of the Central Election Committee Sergey Nasibyan said, each candidate
is enabled to use to 30 minutes of free time and to 80 minutes of paid
time, according to the Election Code. Unbiased and assessment-free
information regarding the campaign the candidate carries out should
be used in the news programmes of the public TV and Radio. The
election campaign may be carried out via mass media, by organization
of pre-electoral meetings with voters, public pre-electoral debates,
discussions, processions, demonstrations, via publication of printed
materials, dissemination of audio- and video materials.

To recall, the Central Election Committee of NKR registered all the
five earlier nominated presidential contenders: NKR parliamentarian
Armen Abgaryan, lecturer of the Artsakh State University, Professor
Vania Avanesyan, deputy Foreign Minister Masis Mailyan, leader of
the Communist party Hrant Melkumyan, Head of the National Security
Service Bako Sahakyan.
