The director of the Sociometer Center for Public Opinion Survey
released a few days ago the results of the survey on the upcoming
presidential election in Nagorno-Karabakh Republic. In Stepanakert he
had met with President Ghukasyan and one of the presidential candidates
Bako Sahakyan before the news conference, and promised to make some
details known. And now our sources in Stepanakert report interesting
details. According to this information, Aaron Adibekyan has visited
Stepanakert three times this year, and he was hosted by the head of
the National Security Service Bako Sahakyan all the three times. In
Karabakh one of the deputies of Sahakyan accompanied him. The filling
of the questionnaires was "organized" by one of the leaders of the Azat
Hayrenik Party, mainly though his friends and high-school students.

In the region of Martuni, Karabakh, the "pollsters" themselves filled
in the questionnaires, and mentioned only three candidates.

Naturally, Masis Mayilyan’s name was absent. Hence, Adibekyan’s
opinion that people in the regions do not know Masis Mayilyan. For
his part, Adibekyan did not release the data of Stepanakert because,
to put it mildly, those were not in favor of the "single candidate",
despite the hard work of the pollsters.

One more interesting fact. Aaron Adibekyan said in his news conference
that the survey was ordered by the Defender of Homeland Organization,
which is the youth wing of the NKR Union of Azatamartiks. By the way,
this organization has stated to support Bako Sahakyan.

Nevertheless, Aaron Adibekyan gave positive answers to some questions
of news reporters which caused deep dissatisfaction among the NKR
government.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
