YEREVAN, JUNE 19, NOYAN TAPAN. The trustees are satisfied with the
results of the "Hayastan" All-Armenian Fund’s activities. Executive
Director of the fund Naira Melkumian stated this on June 19 in response
to reporters’ questions. "I am sure that the fund is becoming a
stable, valuable and international structure," she said. According
to her, last year the fund’s revenues made 22.4 million dollars,
which exceeded by 10 million dollars the revenues of 2005.

N. Melkumian said that over the past 15 years, the fund has implemented
projects of nearly 170 million dollars, including those of 44.9
million dollars over the past three years.

In 2007, the fund will launch the program on development of rural
areas in Armenia and Artsakh, whose purpose is to reconstruct
infrastructures, ensure agricultural development, and encourage
business.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
