/PanARMENIAN.Net/ In Heerenveen, Holland the UEFA Executive Committee
will make a decision on holding football matches between Armenian
and Azeri national teams in the framework of EURO 2008 qualifying
matches, UEFA Spokesman William Gaillard said. He informed the
session of the UEFA Executive Committee will be held in few days,
"This issue is included in the agenda of the session. Members of
the Executive Committee will exchange views on the place of holding
matches between Azerbaijan and Armenia. It is quite possible that
the final decision will be made during this session."

The Spokesman stated that UEFA may cancel matches between Armenian
and Azeri national teams, since regulations of the organization do
not forbid canceling matches. "But, first of all, the parties are to
give consent with the issue. Executive Committee may pass any decision
in the meeting," William Gaillard stated.

UEFA Executive Committee meeting is expected to be held during U-21
European Championship final stage in Netherlands. The championship
will finish on June 23.

UEFA expects final decision to be passed on the same date. It is
expected that UEFA will officially make a decision on the place
of holding matches between Azerbaijan and Armenia till that time,
APA reports.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
