RECEPTION OF RA FOREIGN MINISTER AT ARMENIAN PATRIARCHY OF CONSTANTINOPLE

Newspaper of the Armenian Patriarchy of Constantinople, "Lraber",
informs that foreign Minister of Armenia had a private conversation
with Archbishop Mesrob II Mutafian in Istanbul. After the conversation
the Foreign Minister and the Patriarch had a meeting with 120 members
if the Armenian community of Turkey. In his speech on the meeting
Oskanian reminded that it was fifth visit to Turkey and said he was
moved by the warm reception in the Armenian community.
Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanian noted that the Armenian Patriarchy of
Constantinople is one of the most ancient and influential institutions
of the Armenian Apostolic Church. He also stated that the community
of Constantinople, modern Istanbul, has always had great importance
for the Armenian social and cultural life, recollecting the names of
such eminent Armenian figures as Mkrtich Khrimian, Magakhia Ormanian
and Egishe Durian. Oskanian added that archbishop Mutafian is doing
his best in the office of the Armenian Patriarch of Constantinople.
After the meeting Oskanian visited the Museum of the Patriarchy.
