Drivers will henceforth be fined 3000 drams if they are caught speaking
on mobile phones.
"On observing law breaches a policeman should fill in a form and
present it to the driver. The latter can pay either in cash or in
credit," says Arkadi Petrosyan, an advocate of "Achilles" NGO dealing
with drivers’ rights protection.
It is noteworthy that a week ago an A1+’s reporter saw a policeman
levying 20000-dram fine on a driver. The driver had to pay the fine
as he was unaware of the actual price.
According to the RA Police, they have protocolled 1324 cases over
the recent six months.
