France To Implement Eu Local Chairmanship For 1.5 Years In Armenia

FRANCE TO IMPLEMENT EU LOCAL CHAIRMANSHIP FOR 1.5 YEARS IN ARMENIA

YEREVAN, JULY 10, NOYAN TAPAN. Serge Smessov, the Ambassador of
France to Armenia, at the July 10 joint press confernce with Raul de
Luzenberger, the Charge d’Affaires of the European Commission to RA,
said that today the relations between Armenia and the European Union
are at the active development stage.

He said that France will be implementing the EU’s local chairmanship
mission for one year and a half in Armenia. In S. Smessov’s words,
currently, one of the priorities of the policy carried on by Portugal,
presiding at the EU, in the South Caucasus and, in particular, in
Armenia, is Armenia’s active involvement in the EU’s New Neighborhood
policy. The other initiative regards development and deepening of
relations among the Black Sea basin countries.
