A photo exhibition "The Missing" initiated by the Stepanakert
representation of International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC)
opened in Stepanakert today.

The exhibition is devoted to ICRC activity at "hot" spots of the
planet targeted at search for those reported missing, including
the Nagorno-Karabagh conflict zone, DE FACTO own correspondent in
Stepanakert reports. The organizers believe the exhibition should
attract the attention of the conflicting parties to this humanitarian
problem. Speaking at the opening ceremony, head of ICRC Stepanakert
office Jacque Barberis said the principal goal of the exhibition was
to solve the problems of those, who had forcibly disappeared as a
result of an armed conflict, and render assistance to their families.

The exhibition has already been demonstrated in Geneva, Baku and
Yerevan. In Stepanakert it will work till July 17.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
