CLANNISH-AUTHORITARIAN MODEL IMPLEMENTED IN ARMENIA

Nothing new happens in Armenia. One can see here just logical
continuation of the situation that started in 1994, Leader of the
National Democratic Union Vazgen Manukyn said at a press conference,
Thursday. "A certain model is gradually implemented in Armenia, which
implies accumulation of the country’s power and finance by 5-7 families
and rules out any public influence on policy," he said. However, the
life showed that this model hinders development of the country. Thus,
a new prospective model must be created and the upcoming presidential
election will contribute to it, he said. V. Manukyan assumed a
responsibility for contribution to the process.

He stressed the necessity of building a base national democratic state
to ensure its development in the world competitive environment. While,
Armenia is currently on the opposite way. Fortunately, decisive steps
in this direction are possible in 2008, Vazgen Manukyan said.
