INTERNATIONAL ORTHODOX YOUTH CONFERENCE TO TAKE PLACE IN ISTANBUL

ETCHMIADZIN, JULY 11, NOYAN TAPAN. The second international conference
of young Orthodox people will take place in Istanbul from July 11 to
16 on the initiative of the Cosmic Patriarchate of Constantinople
and young representatives from Orthodox and daughter churches, as
well as from theological and educational institutions and Orthodox
cultural organizations will take part.
According to the information provided to Noyan Tapan by the Information
Service of the Mother See of Holy Etcmiadzin, Monk Hovhannes Mayilian,
Priest Siphan Grigorian, and Miss Nune Arakelian, the Deputy Chairwoman
of the Armenian Religious House of Malatia will take part in this
conference with the blessing of the Catholicos of All Armenians
Garegin II and represent the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
The subject of the conference is "The members of the church as citizens
of the world." Reports and discussions concerning issues troubling
the young are envisaged during this conference. The participants of
the conference will also visit Christian sanctuaries.
