YEREVAN, JULY 11, NOYAN TAPAN. It is a pleasing fact that the young
came up not only with protests and requests but also mentioned
a number of variants of the settlement of problems during the All
Armenian Youth International Conference. This statement was made by Ara
Abrahamian, the Chairman of the World Armenian Congress, at the press
conference after the two-day conference on July 10. According to him,
the above-mentioned variants are connected with the development of
Armenian-Diasporan relations, the regulation of the Karabakh conflict,
as well as the participation of Armenian young people spread all over
the world in the issues of international recognition of the Armenian
Genocide and the development of the rural communities of Armenia.

Ara Abrahamian mentioned that the conference has adopted a Declaration,
which will become a guidebook for the coming year for the activities
of the participants of the conference. According to him, the points
of the Declaration will still be discussed and developed in the
forthcoming six months. It was also mentioned that the World Armenian
Congress will open new branches in the Republic of Nagorno Karabakh,
create a youth internet site, and take measures in the direction of
the organization of All Armenian Youth Festival.

Emil Lazarian: “I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
