UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has made a statement saying
"Kosovo is not a precedent for Nagorno Karabakh." In his words,
granting Kosovo independence will not serve as an example for other
states, particularly for "separatist movements" of Georgia and
Azerbaijan. "I must tell that Kosovo is a unique issue that cannot
serve as a precedent for other cases, Georgian Abkhaz Republic and
the disputable Nagorno Karabakh conflict, including," Ban Ki-moon
announced at a press conference in UN New York Office. This statement
has made Azerbaijan very happy.

The Armenian foreign minister public relations department head,
Vladimir Karapetyan, stated Armenia’s disposition to Panorama.am
saying "we do not connect Nagorno Karabakh with Kosovo procedures"
also saying "different international institutions have made similar
statements many times."

Panorama.am has earlier quoted a statement by Serbia President Boris
Tadich who said that Kosovo’s independence may serve as an example for
the resolution of similar conflicts. In the words of the president,
Nagorno Karabakh and Kosovo conflicts are literally the same and
if Kosovo gets independence, Nagorno Karabakh and Abkhazia can make
similar claims.
