PRIME MINISTER WILL PROTECT FROM PRESSURE
Lragir, Armenia
July 18 2007
On July 17 Prime Minister Serge Sargsyan met with the chairs of
entrance exam commissions. On July 18 we asked the minister of
education and culture Levon Mkrtichyan if the meeting was part of the
prime minister’s presidential aspirations or the prime minister does
not trust the ministry.
"The prime minister considers the entrance exams highly important
because we had a reform, we have a different picture regarding the
exam in Armenian grammar and literature, and it should be sustained by
the commissions. Besides, the prime minister encouraged them to resist
possible pressure, on the other hand, he emphasized that the government
is a stakeholder. Every year the president or the prime minister
meets with the commissions of entrance exams," Levon Mkrtichyan stated.
