The presidential elections in Nagorno Karabakh were well-organized
and transparent, Executive Director of the Public International Law
and Policy Group Paul Williams said during a briefing today.
He noted that these were the second elections observed by American
experts, and every time considerable progress can be seen. "It’s a
pleasure for us to mention that the elections were transparent and
democratic and corresponded to international standards," Paul Williams
noted. In his words, the international community will once recognize
the Nagorno Karabakh Republic, since it is in a much more favorable
condition as compared to other similar formations.
The opinion was shared by another member of the group, former
Minister of Foreign Minister Vladimir Matic. He said the development
of democracy and creation of civil society will finally lead to the
international recognition of the Nagorno Karabakh republic.
