July 20 2007

The Iranian foreign Minister says Iran and the US have agreed to hold
a second round of talks on measures to shore up security in Iraq.

"The two sides are presently discussing the time and date of the
meeting and intend to start the negotiations as soon as possible,"
Manouchehr Mottaki said in a press conference in Armenia on Friday.

Iran has agreed to enter negotiations with the US only at Iraq’s
request. Mottaki is in the Armenian capital of Yerevan to take part
in the 7th session of the Iran-Armenia Joint Economic Commission on
a day-long visit.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
