TEHRAN, July 23 (MNA) — Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad-Ali
Hosseini said here on Monday that Iran believes negotiation is the
best way to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and is ready to
provide any kind of assistance in this regard.

The resolution of the conflict will undoubtedly have a positive effect
on regional security and efforts to promote sustainable development,
Hosseini told reporters.

Noting that Tehran respects the sovereignty of every country, including
Azerbaijan, he stated that Iran welcomes the recent constructive talks
between Armenia and Azerbaijan, particularly the meeting between the
presidents of the two countries.

"Aware of the fact that resolving these animosities can play an
undeniable role in guaranteeing the security and development of the
region, the Islamic Republic of Iran seriously supports talks between
the two governments, which could lead to an agreement," he added.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
