100TH ANNIVERSARIES OF VICTOR HAMBARTSUMYAN AND WILLIAM SAROYAN IN UNESCO’S HONORARY CALENDAR 2008-2009

The Armenian national commission for UNESCO reported that the
centennial anniversaries of Victor Hambartsumyan, renowned scientist,
whose discoveries have marked the directions of development of
astrophysics in the past century, and William Saroyan, outstanding
writer of the 20th century, were included in the honorary calendar
of UNESCO in 2008-2009.
