American Court Finds Arthur Soghomonian Guilty

AMERICAN COURT FINDS ARTHUR SOGHOMONIAN GUILTY

MANHATTAN, JULY 25, NOYAN TAPAN – ARMENIANS TODAY. The federal court
of Manhattan found 28-year-old Arthur Soghomonian, 35-year-old South
African Christian Spice, and other four defendants (three of them are
citizens of Georgia, and one is a citizen of the Ukraine) guilty of
importing arms in an illegal way into the United States.

According to the information provided by Radio Liberty, which quotes
the Reuters agency, the defendants tried to import a great quantity
of arms made in Russia into the United States, according to the court.

The verdict will be published on December 14. Soghomanian and Spice,
who are regarded as leaders of a criminal group, may be sentenced to
50 years’ imprisonment.

Their prosecutors have declared that they will appeal against the
verdict of the court.
