ARMAVIA PLANS TO SELL TICKETS THROUGH INTERNET AS WELL

YEREVAN, JULY 27, NOYAN TAPAN. The Armavia airline’s plane park will
be replenished with another two new Airbus planes in 2008. Businessman
Mikhail Baghdasarov, airline’s owner, informed journalists about it
on July 27.
According to him, it is also planned to implement new flights to
China, the U.S. and Japan. Besides, from 2008 Armavia plans to sell
plane tickets through Internet as well.
M. Baghdasarov said that soon the Sabina Technic Belgian and Armavia
Technic Armenian companies will create a joint company engaged in
planes’ maintenance.
M. Baghdasarov also said that the Grand insurance company has paid a
compensation of 1bn drams (2.6m USD) to the relatives of passengers
who died in the accident of Armavia’s plane last year in Sochi.
