YEREVAN, July 27. /ARKA/. ARKA News Agency published press-rating of
Armenian banks for the 2nd quarter of 2007.
According to the results of the 2nd quarter of 2007, the leaders of
ARKA press-rating are: 1. "Bank Anelik", 2. Araratbank, 3.
Armeconombank, 4. Unibank and 5. HSBC Bank Armenia.
The analyses of press-signals demonstrated that in the accounting
period the information activity of Armenia’s commercial banks in the
press increased, as a result of which the quantity of press signals
increased by 11.7% as compared to the 2nd quarter of 2006.
The share of negative press-signals made 3.4% against 0.7% in the
same period in 2006.
During the 2nd quarter of 2007, the unit weight of press-receipts
increased on the topics of "Clients and services" (from 1.4% to 7.3%)
and "Policy of bank development" (from 17.4% to 22.2%).
At the same time decrease of information activity was recorded on other
divisions, such as "Total" (from 49.6% to 47%), "Digital illustration
of the activity" (from 25.5% to 21%), as well as "Opinions and staff
forecasts on economy" (from 6% to 2.5%).
According to ARKA press-rating for April-June 2007, "Bank Anelik"
became leader of two main sections out of five – "Digital illustration"
and "Development policy". Unibank ranked the first by "Clients and
services". Araratbank expressed opinions more often than the other
banks and forecasted the economy situation. Armeconombank became
leader of the section "Total".
ARKA Agency’s press-rating is compiled not by the financial and
economic indices, but by the banking activity that is made public
through mass media. As a result, the higher the factual information on
the bank’s activity is, the more effective its communicative policy
is. When compiling the press-rating commercials were not researched
or analyzed.
More detailed information can be found in the bulletin "Press-rating
of banks" #07 (34) for the second quarter of 2007.
